Langrisser IV

It's really good. Going back to the gameplay style of lan1&2 did wonders cause its incredibly fun. I would say the downside of horses + flying getting less turns makes up for how strong they are. Maybe I'm stupid. but I thought it was pretty well balanced besides archers being stupidly strong. I really loved the cast!! I love Shelfanie, Angelina and Listell. Rachel is really cute despite being a brocon. Serena is gorgeous and I wish I went route A so I could've had her around more. Speaking of which I got route C!! (the true ending one). I think the ending buildup and payoff was very anticlimactic? and probably the weakest part of the game. regardless I really really loved it. gameplay wise my favorite is 2 but overall 4 is my favorite in the series so far!

I think it has the strongest cast so far as well. Though I've heard 5 has a much more personal story compared to the other games so I might change my mind. Other thoughts: I think Gizlof is kind of a weak villain because nothing he did felt weighty. Gendrasil was also pretty weak and I wish they did more with him. Maybe this is what the other routes are for. Again the romance mechanics are extremely obtuse so I didn't manage to get with any of the girls since I played completely blind. I like fake Yang Wenli a lot I think him and serena's romance is cute.
